Plan of Action for Re-Opening the Church BuildingAdmin2020-07-02T13:27:04-04:00
It’s time! We will be re-opening our building in the upcoming weeks and our first Sunday gathering together will be June 7th! To ensure everyone’s safety and answer questions you may have, please make sure to read through the information below.
Plan of Action for Re-Opening the Church Building
Per State guidelines and using CDC recommendations as a reference, we will open for in-person services in phases.
Phase 1 – Celebrate Recovery will begin May 29th. Phase 2 – Sunday Services, Small Groups and Riverside Youth House Parties will begin June 7th. Phase 3 – Riverside Kids Pre-K will open in July. K-3rd Grade will open at a later time that is still to be determined. RK45 (4th-5th Grade Kid’s Ministry) will open when school resumes in the fall. Phase 4 – The Common Grounds Café and The Source bookstore will open at a later time that is still to be determined.
We understand that many may not feel ready to come back on Sundays, and that is totally okay. We recognize that many have underlying health concerns that put them in a high-risk group, or you may just wish to be cautious at this time, and we respect each person’s choice. If that’s you, please continue to enjoy and participate in our online services at 9 and 11am. We would be honored to continue to serve you in that way!
We are excited that Small Groups can now start meeting. Many in our church can’t wait to get back together with their Small Group. Now is a great time to consider joining a Small Group if you’re not currently in one.
GUIDELINES FOR SUNDAY:
We need to sit in a way that honors the physical distancing guidelines of 6 ft. separation.
Until we roll out Riverside Kids, we will provide the Youth Center as a “family environment.” We ask that parents with babies and young children please consider using the Youth Center to view the service. This is just a recommendation, not a requirement (however, we ask that you be mindful of others and please step outside if needed).
Our goal is to open Riverside Kids as soon as we responsibly can. Once we do, you will want to sign-in your kids online by using the Church Center App.
We love spending time together as a church family, but to avoid congestion in the Main Room, we ask that you please exit the building after the service is over. Feel free to socialize outside while practicing physical distancing.
Some may want to gather with their Small Group to watch the service together in their homes, and that’s a great option. Many others will want to come worship with us in our building! We hear you! We cannot wait either. We have a plan to accommodate as many as we safely can. However, we do have some new normal practices that we will follow to make this the best worship experience possible for all of us.
It will be different from what you are accustomed. On Wednesday, June 3rd at 6pm, we will open up our website where you will be able to reserve your seats to let us know that you plan on coming. You will be able to sign-up for either the Main Room or the Youth Center. Since we have a limited number of seats and because of physical distancing guidelines, we need to do it this way so more people don’t show up on Sunday than we can accommodate. However, we will not turn anyone away.
We will not hand out bulletins or pass offering buckets. We WILL have drop boxes to receive your tithes and offerings.
Please bring your own coffee! The Café will not be open at this time.
If you have any symptoms of sickness, or if you’ve been exposed in the last 14 days, please stay at home and enjoy the service online.
Please sanitize your hands as you enter the building. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building.
Feel free to wear a mask if you feel more comfortable, but masks are not required.
Avoid physical contact with other people while in our building.
We know this will feel different. The goal of all of this is to enable us to meet without causing an outbreak. We will be vigilant in our efforts to follow all the regulations set forward by our Governor and will do our very best to keep our building germ-free. However, you are responsible for your own choice to be around people. We reserve the right to make the necessary changes that line up with new information that continues to come forth.
Please be flexible and pray that Jesus is exalted in this transition time!
